Back to Blogging!

You may (or you may not!) have noticed my slight absence from the blogging scene.  In addition to being hectic busy lately, I have also experienced what can only be described as blogger's block.  Each time I thought about wanting to write a post, my brain would draw a complete blank!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last post! My mind over the past couple of weeks has been consumed mostly with house business, which I did not want to talk about since there was nothing really to tell, but also did not want to speak negatively of in case I jinxed myself!

Either way, whatever my superstitions were, it appears they did not pay off.  Unfortunately the vendors have been rather stubborn in what they are asking for the property, and given the current market conditions and property prices in general, I am unwilling to budge and give those extra dollars they are holding out for.  The real estate agent is hopeful given a bit more time that we can all come to an agreement, but I think I am all negotiated out when it comes to this!

No matter.  We've seen another lovely place over the weekend, and whilst it doesn't have the wow or pizazz that the other property pulled me in with, it does come with more space and much more of a homely feel to it.  We're going to try to arrange a second inspection this week, and then the deliberations will begin on whether to put in an offer.

Anyway, in my brief absence...

I've cooked some tasty food.

I've ordered some unhealthy food.

I've procured some lovely new boots.

And I've spent hours poring over copious amounts of paperwork!

I hope you've all been keeping safe.  Time to catch up with all of your blogs now!

  1. I was just thinking yesterday how you seemed to have stopped!

    Welcome back!

Don't cave and give the extra money, another perfect one will come along... Just like you already said you've found one with more room etc.

    The food looks tasty as!

Good luck with the second inspection!

    1. Thank you, lovely! xx

Exactly. Everything about it has to be perfect, including the price! We'll get there :)

  2. Definitely hold on the house, sounds like the vendors are dreaming a little! It will all work out for the best in the end.

That pizza looks so damn good! x

    1. Yes! Well, considering we're the only offer they've had so far, I think they're being a little too optimistic!

It was delicious, but not so good for my diet!

I can't seem to access your blog anymore?! xx

  3. Always with the food ;-)

I hope you get a house you love, however it happens. Sometimes these things happen for a reason, and who knows, in a month or two they will realise the error or their ways!

    1. Haha! You know me... wouldn't recognise my blog without food now, would you?!

And exactly. We will eventually find the one that's perfect for us. I think even though Liam was so enthusiastic to start with, now that he's seen another that he likes which has features the other was lacking, he's not even 100% keen anymore anyway! We'll get there! :)

  4. Excuse me.. I had been waiting for your posts! :)

Good things come to those who wait. I had a hiccup on a job offer and I was so devastated, it was bizarre. Turned out to be the best thing that I ever did.

    1. Sorry to keep you waiting! :P

Yes! That's the way I'm trying to look at it. Obviously, it just means there is a better house out there for us!

    1. Thanks, ker! That's exactly what my mum said. If it's meant to be yours then you will get it. If not, just have to keep searching for a better one! :)

  6. I can only imagine how difficult it is trying to find the perfect house - finding a flat is hard enough! Some friends just bought a house a month or so ago and said while they put in offers on three previous houses, the one they ended up with (three years later), they're so happy with.

Anwyay, good luck with that, if it's meant to be, it will :) And, love the new boots, they look so comfy

    1. Yes, we've seen so many that it's all starting to turn into a big blur! But I'm already ok with the fact that we didn't get it. I know that eventually we'll come across the right one. It might take time, but it'll be worth it to find the perfect place!

  7. Good luck with the house hunting! I know a few people who are looking now and it's been rather stressful for them, so I hope you're not feeling the same way about it :)

Also, YUM you really did cook some tasty looking food! I'm craving that dish so much right now...
